British Airways and booster seats

Will be taking a Britax Hi-Liner to Portugal from London. Do not want to check it as hold luggage. Wondering if they will let us bring it on board to either put in overhead locker or for toddler to sit in?
If so, would it count as person's one peice of carry-on?

Would they check it in at the gate to the aircraft (as they do with strollers)?

Thanks

Will your toddler have his own seat? If so, you can use it as a booster in the aircraft, which should be fine.

I don't know whether it counts as carry on, though.

Another option is to put it inside your luggage - we did this with car seats on a recent trip, and felt they were much safer and more protected there. Yes, it was a hassle having to get it out before getting in a car, but we packed them with that in mind.

This is what i found on BA website:

"Infant seats and carrycots

If you prefer to use your own seat then it must meet the following standards:

a seat designed to be secured by means of a normal aircraft single lap strap and face the same direction as the passenger seat on which it rests
a purpose-designed children?s car seat with a 5-point restraining harness
the seat must not exceed the dimensions of the aircraft seat
The CAA does not permit rearward facing car seats."

therefor i would guess they would not let you take it on tha plane.... cause it isnt designed to be fitted with a lap strap, and doesnt have a 5 pount harness

Don't think they'll let you use it on the plane and with current hand luggage restrictions probably not to carry on. Can you not just put it in a padded out bag and place in hold as oversized luggage (gets handled separately to suitcases)

Having been on lots of flights in the past few weeks, they definitely won't let you take it as hand luggage if it doesn't meet the criteria for your toddler to use as a seat. They are incredible precice about the size of what you can take on board at the moment (you can get the exact dimensions on the BAA website).

Hello, we took hi-liner to italy with pikey 'ol Ryanair, took it apart into two halves, and took it on as two pieces of hand luggage no probs!
