What "little" things do we need to do in Orlando?

So we've got Disney and Universal covered and don't want to do any more day trip things, but whilst we're out and about on International Drive/in Orlando area what little things do we need to do?

Thanks!

Ripley's Believe it or Not (international drive)
discovery cove is fantastic!

Do you have small dc's then Green Meadows petting farm is good!

Orlando eye, sealife center and madam tussads is good to pass a few hours plus it's all under one roof.

Dinosaur World tho its about an hours drive from I-drive.

Lake Louisa state park is stunning. It's about 30 mins from International Drive but feels a million miles away. Stunning scenery and so tranquil. I think it cost $5 to enter with the car.

Have you been before? If not, I think you'll be surprised at how much time it takes to do Disney & Universal. For example, you really need 3 days just to do Magic Kingdom! (that's if youw ant to do everything though, you can of course get a good feel of it in just one day).

Hi, thanks all. We have been before but not with DC's but we're not doing two weeks of theme parks, want time by the pool and chilling too so aiming for a good balance.

We went last year and our kids (13 and 8) loved the Ice Bar (if you go before 8pm) as it's an entire bar made our of ice. They serve soft drinks too. Really "cool".#

Also Fun Spot was well worth a visit and a fraction of the cost of the 'known' amusement parks.

Have breakfast one morning in an IHOP (International House of Pancakes) and also one in Denny's (all on IDrive).

There is a cinema near where the Ice Bar is on IDrive so you can always chill out there (nice and airconditioned) and get refillable popcorn and drinks!

The Orlando Eye was only being built when we were there and I think it got damaged in storms over the winter but I think it's open now and would be a great way to spend a bit of time. No idea on costs though.

I can't think of anything else at the moment but if I do I'll let you know.

Enjoy your trip!

Crazy golf is good for a chilling day, there are a few different ones around. My kids also enjoyed a trip to Walmart Confused, as they could check out the American sweets and drinks that cost a fortune over here!

Disney quest is often overlooked yet it is usually included in the Disney tickets. It's in downtown Disney and is a building full of all those £1 to ride a motorbike things etc that I normally forbid my dcs to go on due to cost. there's also a couple of unique family games

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 18/08/2015 10:01

Disney Quest is closing but I'm not sure when...

budgiegirl · 18/08/2015 12:14

I have to say I absolutely loathed Disneyquest, I thought it was tacky , dirty and miserable. But my kids LOVED it, so I would say it's worth visiting on a quiet day, if you've got it already included on your tickets.

We had a wonderful evening in Celebration and another in Winter Garden, perfect way to spend some time out of the Disney madhess

In Orlando at the moment and did an airboat ride last week (run by a company called Boggy Creek)-best money we've spent outside the parks. Airboat was such a fab experience and saw alligators in the wild!
