Car Seat Belt Extenders

Hi,

I have bought a Red Castle Group 0 car seat, with the bonus that it lies flat up to a certain age. My problem is that I have also just changed car and I can either put the carseat lie flat in the front seat (which I don't believe is recommended for a rear facing seat) or I can have the seat in the back but only in the upright position as the seat belt is not long enough. I had thought that car seat extenders were available from Halfords but cannot find them on the website. Also on reading a bit on the internet some manufacturers say car seat extenders can only be used on people over the 95th percentile in size, and not for car seats.

Does anyone have some advice they can give me (apart from get a new car / car seat) to ensure I can use the car seat in lie flat mode in the rear of the car for longer journeys?

Many thanks,

Sacha

Update on my seat belt issue - The car manufacturer do not sell extenders as they say all their car seats fit so I should have bought one of theirs (but it's not a lie flat! seeing as we will be doing a 2-2 1/2 hour drive within 2 weeks of the baby being born......).
Went to Halfords and they say they are not allowed to sell them in case they are wrongly fitted (fair enough).
However, hubby has calmed me down and pointed out that the car seat will fit in the mid position in the rear, not the fully lie down but at least not the upright position that most car seats seem to put the child in. So I guess the seat will be almost lie flat whilst driving and then lie flat on the pram / at rest stops etc. Not the ideal solution but it seems the only one so far.
I did find a website in Essex that supplied extenders but hubby had a look at the fitting in the car and we can only access one side of it so he is worried about loosing the fixing bolt somewhere in the car so we won't be buying and self fitting!
