Child meal or adult meal business flight

Hi,

We are travelling with just turned 3 and 6 year old business. It's our first longhair flight with the kids (hence going business!).

Should we order them kids meals or stick to adult meals for them and let them stick up on sweets from the snack bar?

The eldest can be funny with new foods, the little one is usually quite good (but depends on mood and appetite!).

I will of course take snacks from home anyway. It's a 9 hour flight.

TIA

Off topic but one of my fondest memories is travelling First Class on Air France (no Business Class then). They had a restaurant upstairs on the plane with an extensive menu. Mum, Dad, me, 3 sisters and 2 Air Crew were the only passengers there.

As for plane food, surely you can be picky and get extras of things you like once on the plane.

On a memorable flight back from Oman, Ds then age around 3 ate about 4 Mars ice creams. Nothing else.

OP I think it is totally odd that anyone is suggesting you shouldn't travel business with your kids. I travel business a lot. Sometimes on my own, sometimes with my kids. There are kids in the cabin more times than not. it is never a problem.

FWIW, my kids like the kids meals a lot - not for the actual main dish but for the bits that come with it. On occasion, when they have preferred something off the main menu, they have been allowed to order that anyway.

We have travelled long haul business with children many times and there are usually other kids in business. The entertainment systems are so good that you hardly hear a squeak out of them. Kids also sleep well on these flights, especially if the plane has 'pods'. Dd will normally wake up about 1 hour before landing.
Mine usually eat the normal business meal as there is always bread, cheese, fruit, salad etc. Dd is not keen on anything with a sauce, but will just put that to one side. Ds is now 15 so eats anything/everything.

I never understand the big deal people make out of others being able to travel in business or first class.

And as for this nonsense of people wanting peace to work/enjoy the flight so children shouldn't be in business or first class cabins - there are private jets you can hire.

And why fly business or first? Its quite simple really - its great!
