Hi- looking to go to Vietnam in September- probably the north looking at the weather. Two kids- 10 and 8, reasonably robust travellers, we have 2 weeks. Don't need to sit on a beach particularly but not against a few days just relaxing. Just starting to research it now so looking for recommendations for things to do and issues to think about. Any advice very welcome, thanks.

Just re-read my previous post and remembered that the boat trip with snorkelling and the mud bath spa were both in Nha Trang - whoops! I'm sure there will be plenty to do in Hoi An though.

Actually train from Hanoi to Danang sounds great, much better than flying, if you have time. We went to a place near Danang called "Love Valley" which was hilarious! So stop off there if you're driving from Danang to Hoi An Smile

Jealous now.. Must plan an adventurous holiday!

Arrgh I am jealous now - can't wait to go back. Such a great place.

Thanks again for advice. I think I going to book at least the first week hotels etc and then see how we go. I'd like to be more spontaneous but probably not the best idea when travelling with 2 kids. We would like to try the train for at least one section- so to danang sounds good.

Hi twofalls- just got back- had a fantastic time, kids loved it, remarkably easy country to negotiate. Happy to chat here or PM if you haven't gone already?!
