Me and my bf we both like sightseeing and museums but I dislike very hot weather.
I think Venice/Florence would be far too hot.

Would Provence be too hot too? I would like to fly to Avignon and do 8 days driving holiday in that area - should we leave it for another trip in September or October?

I also like the idea of driving holiday between Genoa and Nice - has anyone done that in June.

Or perhaps suggest another destination?
We will be flying from London so can be anywhere really providing not too hot and plenty of sightseeing.

I'd check average temperatures for the mainland European cities you are interested in. But the weather can vary quite a lot, and a normally hot city may well be colder and vice versa at the time you are there. Unless you go for Northern European cities.

That's why am not going to Venice and Florence - I feel I would be very unhappy as it may get very hot.

I've been to few places in Austria, Denmark, Poland and Germany in the past so not including them on my list.

In Greece and Turkey would be baking hot as well.

If we go to Provence I would book tickets for en.cavernedupontdarc.fr/

and probably use this article to start my planning:

In early June many of the places you are ruling out would not be nearly as hot as in August!
Pre-children we had a fantastic holiday driving round Andalucia staying in Parador hotels - they are mostly in converted ancient buildings such as monasteries and castles although some are more modern but always in wonderful locations. The Granada one is lovely, as are Carmona, Ronda, Ubeda, and Jaen (a really spectacular castle! www.parador.es/en/paradores/parador-de-jaen). One of my favourites is Malaga Gibralfaro - wonderful Mediterranean views and there is so much to see in Malaga's old town.
Unfortunately Seville doesn't have a Parador but there are loads of lovely hotels there. Cordoba is an amazing city as well!

I decided for Venice after all. Booked 4 days there and car from Wed until Sunday to explore surrounding areas.
We are leaving Venice very late on Sunday so this break will definitely be full 8 days!
