Can you recommend a hotel in NYC?

Going for 4 nights in September with my mum. We don't need anything too fancy, just comfortable, safe and clean. Something like a Premier Inn sort of standard.

I was thinking we'd pay about £150/night for a double/twin but this seems to be a total underestimate! Grin

Any recommendations for hotels, or even websites with good deals? Have been looking at Expedia but not very inspired just yet. Thanks!

The Larchmont! It's clean, if a little shabby, and you have to share a bathroom, but the location is excellent and breakfast is included. We've stayed twice and never had to queue for a bathroom and the bathrooms have always been scrupulously clean. It's brilliant!

The small, but immaculate and perfectly formed pod39 is fab. 10 mins walk from Timed Square. Quiet street. Amazing Mexican restaurant in house. I loved it and will stay there again when we return to nyc.

OH highly recommends Hilton Times Square. Smile

humblebee I am taking DD in October and we are staying at the Belvedere! A friend recommended it as it is relatively quiet round there so we get a decent nights sleep!

We are staying at the Excelsior which is Upper West Side. I am not sure what it cost as I booked it with flights, but I think it was pretty cheap.
