Has anyone let their house on airbnb?

Just looking for experiences and thoughts really.

We're away for a few weeks in summer and I think we could probably let our house, money is a bit tight so it would really help.

We rented a flat in Paris last year on a similar site and it was brilliant.

Please share your experiences, tips, advice etc.

One thing that worries me is that we don't have anyone who could come around if there was a problem e.g lost keys, boiler broke etc.

Thanks

Hmm I must admit I have a few issues with airbnb. if you stay in rented property in the uk then they have to have all sorts of fire safety equipment and insurances etc. just not sure you get that through airbnb and would be concerned that someone we let stay would trash the place or worse still set fire to it and our insurance wouldn't cover it because it is being let and therefore a business. to be honest, I think in the UK anyway it exploits a gap in the market and the compromise is safety but that is just me with my safety hat on.
