ERF car seat at home... What to do on holiday abroad?

Da is nearly 2 and uses a rear facing britax dualfix car seat.
We are going abroad next month and have a private transfer from the airport, which will either be a people carrier or minibus. It's a 2 hour transfer so I don't want her to be on my lap/ use an adult belt.
Will I have to buy a spare just for travelling? I've been reluctant to hire one from the transfer company as I couldn't be sure it hasn't been in an accident/ dropped etc.
Any advice on the best budget car seat for this purpose or an obvious solution that I've missed would be appreciated!

You can take your existing car seat on the plane at no extra charge (double check with airline but that is usually the case) so just use that.

BTW to check you are aware it is lethally risky for her to be on your lap inside your belt. An adult belt will also be useless.

I wouldn't ever have her on my lap, not even for a short journey. My car seat is huge and too heavy to carry so taking it with me isn't an option.

very wise; I have seen a few on here suggesting putting kids in the shared adult belt and it makes my blood run cold.

I think she's too young for a trunki so buy a cheap lighter seat to take with.

Bear in mind that if you take a car seat with you, you will have to check it in and it is likely to be dropped and chucked around by the baggage handlers, so is probably no safer than a hired on. That aside, we bought relatively cheap car seats for travelling with and have always taken them to avoid the extortionate charges from car rental places. Our seats, which have been round the world with us, cost less than it would have cost to rent them for a two week holiday.

how heavy/tall is she?
would she still fit in a baby seat?
my dd will be 17 mths when we fly so am going to get a cheap baby seat to take with us as according to her red book she wont hit 13kg till 2.5/3!

does it defo need to be rf for the hol or would you consider ff? (you could prob get a cheap ff seat quite easily)
