Sterilising abroad

Hi

We are just about to travel to Lanzarote with our 11 mo old and was wondering what people thought about how to sterilise her 2 bottles each day? We went abroad last year and had access to a microwave and so used this but this time we don't have access to one.

I know we could use the Milton tablets, but making up 5l of water in a hotel room seems like a recipe for disaster!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Milton tablets are the way to go. Can you cut them in half to make 2.5 litres instead?

I packed a 5 liter plastic container into my suitcase ( no lid) and packed around clothes into it and around it. Used bottled water and the Milton tablets ( tesco are cheaper for their own brand) and it worked fin. Dd was only 6 months so had to do 5 a day.

You can buy premeasured bags/tablets for travel but at 11 months washing and rinsing in boiling water would probably be ok.

Another vote for not sterilising any more , she is crawling ,picking stuff up of the floor, eating with normal plates bowls etc just make sure you wash well and in good hot water and air dry I think is best.

I always used boiling water. I didn't sterilise ( using the steriliser) once mine were crawling.

A litre of bottled water and quarter of a tablet. Does the job fine. I don't feel the need to sterilise beyond 6 mts but in countries where the water can make you sick I prefer the peace of mind.

As others have said just us half a tablet and a plastic box with tap water. I didn't sterilise at that age but I was still breastfeeding so had no bottles anyway.

At 11 months I probably wouldn't bother

Disposible Steribottles. Not cheap but fantastic for ease of use and peace of mind particularly if you only use a couple a day
