First world problem- help me convince DH about Disney, Florida

I've been looking at the DIBB website and trying to make sense of the ticket prices and combos but have hit a brick wall. Basically, what we want is DW for 2 days, US for 1 and SW for 1. We then plan on seeing family, visiting the Everglades for a couple of days, a 3-day mini cruise and then beach/shopping for a couple of days.

However, the park tickets seem to be pricing us out of this. We are looking at £2000 for the tickets (approx £100 per person for SW, £100 per person for US, and £1000 for DW (a 7 day ticket) for the four of us). These are all using the websites of the individual parks. Is there any other way round this? I have seen other combo of tickets but we are looking at a similar price. The other option would be to rule out US and SW and just go to DW.

A package holiday probably wouldn't make sense for us because of visiting and staying with family, our wish to travel to other places around Florida, and the cruise.

Our kids will be 8 and 4.5, and we are looking at Easter 2016 or Summer 2016. Any advice would be gratefully received!x

They looking on money saving expert forum for current recommended ticket sellers, but there's no way it should be costing you £2k for a family of 4 for those tickets.

Try costco if you are a member their city pass tickets are fab. Honestly I don't think sea world is worth the money

peaz · 05/04/2015 20:41

Fab, tbanks for that. I'll have a look and maybe rethink sea world and possibly even universal.

If you are only doing parks for 4 days it would be a total waste of money paying for US and SW on top of Disney, you'd be too knackered to enjoy them all! If you go for all the Disney Parks you've got a day at the Magic Kingdom, a day at Animal Kingdom, a day at Hollywood Studios and then Epcot or one of the water parks. The parks are enormous, your 4 year old would have to be super human to cope with more than one park a day!

BloodyDogHairs · 05/04/2015 21:48

I agree with pants you are trying to squeeze in too much park wise, with only 4 days you aren't going to get value for money even if you only do Disney.

My apologies it looks like city pass is only available in the us and Canada Costco, but you could see if they do international delivery

Looking at the age of your kids and the length of time you're there I really would only do Disney unless this is a once in a lifetime and your kids are Harry potter nuts. Sea world isn't worth it unless you have time to spare. Universal is great for older kids but there will be lots your 4 yr old won't want to do, there's a lot that terrified me!

budgiegirl · 09/04/2015 01:14

I'd stick to doing just Disney, especially as you only have four days and your kids are quite young.

You would be better off with a four day pass for Disney, which should cost around £800 for the four of you.

Agree with others, the Magic Kingdom alone is ENORMOUS, and could easily take 2-3 days if you want to do most of it. Also Easter is v v busy, so be prepared not to be able to go on everything, make good use of Fast Passes, and get there at opening.

With 4 days in Orlando choose either WDW or US, don't bother with SW. I wouldn't bother with getting the park hopper option, but you may be interested in adding in the DW water parks (although you'll struggle to fit them in).

Agree we spent two days in the Magic Kingdom alone. Then two days at Hollywood Studios (our personal fav), one at Animal Kingdom, one at Epcot and one each at the water parks. Got a good deal of 14days for the price of 7 so was £2000 for 7 of us. Fab holiday but 2 weeks still wasn't enough!
