we usually go to haven sitew in the uk but thinking of booking a weeks stay at duinrell I've looked at weather reports but gave up what's the weather like end of July or end of august.

do they have evening entertainment as i can't find anything online.

apart from the campsite is it possibly to go for a stroll into a town?

any help apreciated

I think there is evening entertainment though we didn't partake. There is a reasonably bug village next to it with a few restaurants & a good size supermarket.
I think the weather will be similar to the UK

AlpacaMyBag · 04/04/2015 13:19

Weather is the same as SE England pretty much. July/August could be hot or could be grey, rainy and miserable, quite possibly a mix of both.

Chippednailvarnish · 04/04/2015 13:22

We went to a Centre Parc an hour from Amsterdam, in August a few years ago. It was nearly 40° on the first day, but then it cooled. Its very similar weatherwise to the UK.

we've been in June and then again in sept. I think the weather is fairly similar to the south east of England. you can walk into the nearest town, wassenaar in about five mins from the campsite and hire bikes to ride to beach. fabulous place is duinrell.Smile

GoodtoBetter · 04/04/2015 13:37

in different years, not twice in a year that isSmile

We've been twice in August. The first time it was really hot & sunny; the second, it rained a lot. There is evening entertainment. Last year we watched the reps performing Mama Mia, went to a bingo night & a kids football tournament.

Wassenaar is a 5 minute walk. The beach is a 10 minute drive. There's also a bus to The Hague & you can hire bikes. There's loads to do!

Have a look at AccuWeather they give previous averages for everyday of the year - may give you an idea for the time of year your looking at

KiaOraOAotearoa · 05/04/2015 10:49

About half-half tbh. It's definitely warmer than UK (the South). The sunny days: beach/water park, rainy days: trip to the towns around. 25 degrees on average I'd say. Go for it, it's lovely!
Two hours up the road it's properly cold though, so keep it to South Holland :)

We went last week of August and the weather was a mix, but the beach was very very windy. Not bad for a short walk or to watch the paragliders but not sunbathing weather.

I've been to Duinrell many times (and am actually going on Tuesday) and I love love love it! But I don't think that the evening entertainment is of any note, it's mainly in Dutch from what I remember however I haven't been in high season so it could be in English then

PilchardsonToast · 12/04/2015 20:05

I've now just come back from my trip to Duinrell and I was wrong about entertainment so wanted to update my post! there was stuff on every night we were there - mini disco, kids bingo, older kids disco and some other things there also were a few bits of kids entertainment in the day but everything was in Dutch with some English for the non Dutch kids

Fuzzyfelt123 · 12/04/2015 20:32

Just got back from here - love love loved it. A week is not enough! Best family holiday ever, and a third of the price of equivalent accommodation in Centerparcs in Uk. I would not hesitate to return.
