Eating out in Paris with kid

Nagasaki · 22/03/2015 08:53

DH, DS(5) and I are off to Paris for Easter weekend. I've worked out itinerary and travelling, but still struggling with eating arrangements.

Thinking we will probably eat out at lunch time (bistros) and maybe go more picnic/crepes at dinner.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to eat or tips on cheap eats?
Staying in hotel in Montparnasse, and doing usual tourist things.

Merci Wink

Noura (Lebanese) is open all day, has a branch at Montparnasse and is super child friendly and delicious!

Watching with interest!! We are also travelling to montparnasse on Easter Sunday with DC aged 2 & 4! Are you travelling by Eurostar? How are you planning to get to montparnasse from gare du nord?

Thanks Bonsoir

MakeTea - we are flying to CDG and then taking the RER to GdNord. Then metro to Vanvin station which is nearest to our hotel. GdNord is metro as well as a RER station.

There's lovely metro maps on Internet with interactive journey planners Smile I'll link one.

If you happen to be near a branch of Flams they're pretty good - cheap and child friendly.

Chartier - even though it's touristy nowadays, will give your kids a real sense of restaurant "theater" (and steak/chicken frites is still reasonably priced!)... It's not a "kiddie" restaurant, but is noisy and hectic enough to not be a problem with kids (it's a restaurant not a fast food chain). My dad used to take me there when I was a little 'un, and though I was there again recently, and the food wasn't as good as I remembered it, it was still the same atmosphere!
If you're around Montparnasse, then head to Place D'Italie in the 13th and visit Chinatown - very child-friendly and not that expensive (particularly at lunchtime)....
Have a great time in my favourite city, both of you!!

When we went 2 years ago we found a restaurant more or less opposite the Bourse. Can't remember the name, modern decor but varied menu which suited everyone

I'd also be interested in knowing how you got on. We're off to Paris in August with 2 dc.
