South of France, Spain or Portugal at Easter - where to stay and will it be warm?

Thinking of going abroad next Easter. We wouldn't want more than a 2 or 3hr flight so considering S France, Spain or Portugal. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations? A holiday park (Canvas or similar) or possibly apartment complex (but with playground/pool/outdoor space) near the beach would be ideal, in a nice quiet area but with a few places to go nearby eg pretty town/castles/places to go for walks and picnics. Would need to be near an airport so easy for car hire.

Also what would the weather be like at Easter? Bearing in mind we always holiday in the UK so anything where we don't have to pack woolly hats and gloves is an improvement Wink

Should add DC will be 6 and 8 so not bothered about sightseeing but will still need lots of wearing out!

I live in the Algarve and the weather could be lovely (currently early 20s) but it's not guaranteed and it could also be showery, probably not very cold though. I live in Carvoeiro, happy to answer any questions if you think it's a possibility Smile

I'm not sure i would want to stay in a tent in any of those places at easter. We have often been to nw tuscany at easter and it is not sandals weather (although we have optimistically worn them on occasion), but you may well take your jumper off. We have also had torrential rain, and then it is correspondingly cold. Not freezing, but not. What we travelled all that way for!

Having said that, as a child i went to france at easter three years in a row and there was sunbathing galore (for the adults) for the first two years.

In summary, it'll probably be better than here, but nothing is guaranteed!

we went to Malta in april a few years ago and it was between 18 and 22 degrees most days and very pleasant.
