Buggy limit on planes?

I'm new on here so I hope i do this right! We're flying to Norway next week and I want to take our pram with us. We're with BA who seem to be very family friendly, but it states that the limit for a buggy is 5kg (and fully collapseable). Ours is around 10kg, but we could really do with it around the airport rather than checking it in with the suitcases. Does anyone have any recent experience of flying with BA and taking a larger buggy up to boarding the plane? Thanks a lot :-)

We've taken both a bugaboo and a maclaren on many a long haul flight, I know our maclaren is 7kg so a 5kg buggy is very small.
You check it in and then keep it until you board, although I've had the maclaren stored over head, they usually carry it down to the cargo area. Make sure you request it to be bought up to the door when you arrive as well.
I have never come across a buggy weight limit before. Call them and ask them to lend you a buggy, if they have a buggy weight limit.

I've taken our massive Phil & Ted on several BA flights and never had a problem.

We check it at the desk, keep it to the gate, then it goes down to the hold. Sometimes we get it back at the gate, sometimes not (depends on the airport).

If your DC is small enough to fit in a sling, bring one with you because airports are very long walks when you have to carry a baby and all your hand luggage because you haven't got the pram back at the gate.
