Duinrell - how to get there from London

Want to go to Duinrell at Easter. If you have been from London, how do you get there? Thinking of driving so we take whatever we like. Chunnel seems the quickest route but has a lot of driving, Harwich has a v long ferry but not much driving.

Any tips?

We did this journey from Yorkshire last year! Dover to Calais ferry crossing and then we drove from there (through Belgium). If I remember correctly around a four hour drive from ferry to campsite...very reasonable and quick roads. We would certainly do it again.

If you take the night crossing from Harwich, you arrive in the Hoek about 8am the next morning and its certainly less then an hour from there to Duinrell making allowances for the rush hour around The Hague. the ferry leaves the uk about 11pm ish

We take the ferry from Harwich and book a cabin for the day, so we can relax, watch television and have a picnic in comfort. The journey is longer than driving via Calais, but I find it preferable to being in a car for hours with ever increasing teenage boys.

We drove via chunnel, and stopped off at Antwerp on the way for a bit of a break. It's not a bad drive at all. And duinrell is fab - you will have a lovely time.

We did the Chunnel and then drove to Duinrell, it took about 4 hours. We had 3 kids in the back and it was fine, would do it again.

You coul go to Dunkirk instead of Calais. Its longer ferry but save on the drive

We did Dunkirk last year. Dunkirk is badly signposted. You could lose hours getting lost. We did!!

I've done Harwich/Hook before. Worked well but is £££ compared to Dover/Calais. Would consider it after last years nightmare bored children drive though!

Thanks all. Kids are fairly little so I think Chunnel is the way to go - don't really fancy doing either night or day on a ferry with the 2 year old. Just booked accommodation today and getting excited! Any tips for when we are there? Easter so quite cold. Is there room in the bungalow (we have a 4 person comfort one) for luggage or is it very cramped?
