Is Euro Disney worth the expense??

DD is due to have her tonsils out in the next couple of months and was considering a family trip to Euro Disney as a special treat.

I have many questions along lines of:
How much approximate for a 3 night stay? in Is it worth the money?
Is there anywhere reasonably priced to stay?
Are the queues horrendous?

Only other theme park we have been to is Peppa Pig World !!

Should add, we are a family of 4 (DS is 9 & DD 7)

Yes for us it always has been. Love it.

There are ways to avoid the queues if you stay in the hotels and are organised in the way you use the extramagic hours and fast track systems

The cost entirely depends on how you do it when you can do it.Whether you want to be walking distance to the park, happy to use the shuttle bus (go for the associated hotels) or are happy to stay off site and drive in.

For a rough idea of cost have a look at the main Disneyland Paris website. For an idea of prices Look at the my explorers hotel (associated), cheyenne (cheapest walking distance) and sequoia (nice mid price walking distance) those should give a reasonable range of costs. then have a look at the Disney hotel just for a laugh Wink

We were there last week. 4 nights in a Disney hotel and 5 days of park tickets cost us €438. There was a special offer with 4 nights for the price of 2 and children under 7 were free (sometimes it's children under 12).

The offer is still on at the moment, you should have a play with their booking system and see what you can come up with.

It was well, well worth it. The kids had the time of their lives, I loved it and even DH, who didn't expect to like it at all, was very sad to be leaving and started asking the day after we got home when we could go back!

How did you travel Cheshire? Does that cost cover the journeys?

I took my granddaughter when she was 7 yo (5 yrs ago)
She loved it and still raves about it now Smile
We went in November and it was bitterly cold but that didn't put her off. It wasn't cheap but worth every penny.

VivaLeBeaver · 29/01/2015 20:03

If you google you will find a whole forum related to DLP. It has tips of local non Disney hotels which are cheaper.

We went when dd was younger. we stayed in the carpark in our camper van for 10euros a night which was fab! I really liked it, dd loved it, dh hated it!

CheshireCait · 30/01/2015 19:09

Chasing, no, definitely not! We flew from Dublin so that was another €515 I think. Then there were airport transfers at €70 each way.

Staying in an offsite hotel and buying park tickets is never as cheap as a Disney hotel with a good special offer.

We're going in a few months time, 2 adults 2 children, cost us just under 2K for 4 nights for the price of 2 at a 4 star Disney Hotel, flights included.

plipplops · 03/02/2015 16:42

Just to put some perspective (esp on the last post of £2K for 4 nights). We're going to Florida in October for 14 nights, Disney deluxe hotel with dining plan (so food included), Virgin economy flights out and premium economy back, car hire and 14 day park tickets for £7200. So although it's a lot of money, if you can afford it it's arguably better value (and sunnier) than DLP

bryonyelf · 03/02/2015 19:14

Shop around. Our trip is

Flights from Glasgow £180
Transfers €70
Hotel £200 for 4 nights - val d Europe
Annual passes £346 - means we get EMH, restaurant discounts and a trip back at Christmas!

bryonyelf · 03/02/2015 19:15

I disagree with the comment above that disney is cheaper. We booked on the 2 night free option and booking the adagio was still cheaper.

chasingtail · 03/02/2015 19:27

Someone has suggested booking through "Disney-Link" - the prices are MUCH cheaper than via Disney because the company owner block books rooms and Eurostar. Massive savings if you can travel on specific dates.
Hmm
