I know very little about Turkey.

Considering a trip at the end of May. What will the weather be like? Will the resorts be 'open' ?

Any tips would be most welcome.

Weather should be good (you may get the odd rainstorm/thunder and lightning etc). Resorts will be up and running.

We've been to Dalyan the last couple of years and would recommend it, although you're a boat-ride away from a beach and nightlife is limited to bars and restaurants rather than club 18-30 nuclear powered discos etc.

Dalyan sounds good to me.

I don't need discos much now. A quiet bar and a book is fine. ;)

Thanks for the reply

Tripadvisor is your friend (in general) there...there are scores of restaurants and you're (very) unlucky if you find a bad one. There's a company called Kaunos Tours that we've used quite a lot for trips and excursions etc who have been very good.

I'm quite jealous, actually...not sure we can make it there this year Envy

I go to Turkey nearly every year. End of May or mid September are the nicest times of all.

Turkey is lovely - great food & Dalyan or even Akyaka sound as if they would be perfect for you if you don't want the night life.

That is just what I wanted to hear magimedi.

Good weather and good food.

May is a lovely time to visit Turkey, the resorts will all be open and by the end of the month it should be in the high 20s.

You can also have a look a Bitez or Yalikavak on the Bodrum Peninsula, no discos there but nice beaches, plenty of good restaurants and a few bars.

I have been going to Bodrum for over 20 years and lived there for 3 years so if you want to know anything about that area just ask :)

Agree with magi that Akyaka is worth a thought - especially if you don't want a Brits abroad feel. I found Dalyan lovely but a bit too commercialised (I'll never get over hearing a British lady ordering spag bol in a lovely Turkish restaurant and telling her family she was being terribly adventurous by choosing such a local dish) but Akyaka still feels a bit more authentic.
