Warm and cheap in March?

Looking at Egypt and Canaries at the moment. Morocco is a no because we have been before and I had the runs the whole time and this time I'm pregnant and don't want to risk it! Grin

We have a 3yo and would love a water park type holiday - I'm due end of May so this is our last chance for a while. Last week in March I'll be 28wks, I don't think I'll be comfortable travelling after that.

We did canaries in March. Warm enough but water parks water will be cold. It's had all winter to cool down and they don't heat the water. Fine if you're hardy but not so good if you're a wuss like me. GrinGrin

Make sure pool is heated if going canaries in March. But yes is warmest European option

Egypt is also notorious for the old two-step.

make sure your travel insurance is solid for wherever you go.

Now looking at going in Oct halfterm instead as baby will be 5 months and weather will be warm.

And it will give me an impetus to get into bikini shape by then hahaha

Egypt looks great though, can do all inclusive quite cheaply, hope we don't all get the runs but at least I won't be pregnant and babe won't be on solids yet.

any reason for half term, given your kids aren't school age?

more expensive, more crowded, worse service.

Heels99 · 15/01/2015 12:04

Everyone I know who has gone to Egypt has had the Egyptian tummy. Even those staying in the most exclusive resorts. Totally puts me off going. Met a doctor on holiday last year who said he would never go to Egypt due to the number of patients he has who return to UK with stomach problems.
If you have a cast iron stomach or can get a recommended hotel where people you know have been without getting ill, or can afford the four seasons go for it!

ArgyMargy · 15/01/2015 22:04

She never mentioned half term, Heels.

ArgyMargy · 15/01/2015 22:04

Sorry Heels, I meant Special!!!

ArgyMargy · 15/01/2015 22:06

Anyway Heels, I managed Egypt without any gastric trouble, so did DH. But we never went on a Nile cruise. Everyone we met who had done a Nile cruise had stomach trouble.

Oops sorry Special - completely missed that post! Blush

Has anyone been on a family cycling holiday in Europe? Looking for one where you go from hotel to hotel for about 5 days.

SandyBlue · 21/01/2015 14:14

You can't beat the Algarve. Either on March or in October. It usually not too hot in either month. Not all the waterparks are open though. Zoomarine will be open in March and stays open until October or November. Its a fabulous day out with dolphin shows, sealions, fairgroudn rides for the kids, swimming pools and even a beach!

Great family holiday have a look at the coral sea holiday village (exclusive to first choice). Great family facilities and entertainment for the little one. Also a creche for the baby if you fancied a adult only meal one night! We have been twice and am going back in May. Will be much more expensive in half term though as it caters almost exclusively for families. They also have other HV hotels in Tenerife, lanzarote and the Balearics if you don't fancy Egypt.
