Eurocamp South of France - please make recommendations

Please! Someone help me with choosing a Eurocamp park in the South of France! We are looking to go at the end of August/beginning of September, will have our two year old with us, and want to stay in a mobile home (or equivalent), rather than a tent. We aren't at all fussed by the entertainment, just want a decent pool area, and close enough to walk/cycle/drive a short distance to civilisation. We don't want to be on a super noisy site, but don't mind a bit of a buzzing atmosphere.

Having never been to the South of France before, we're not too sure on which area to go to, but have been looking at parks near the Ardeche and Dordogne areas, and also the "riviera"/Provence.

Please recommend any parks you have been to in these areas, feel like I am going nuts here!

Domaine de masserau is a nice site I have a few friends who return every year

We've been the langedouc region with canvas twice. Last time to beachgarden.lesmediterranees.mobi/en/

Right on beach, large site, but canvas pitches are away from bar/pool so nice and quiet. Booking direct you can get ones almost on the beach.

Thanks for these suggestions. We actually ended up booking a small, family-oriented campsite in the Dordogne ( Domaine des Mathevies ), which has also come highly recommended by a few mumsnetters. Started to worry about the size of the parks with Eurocamp, and thought somewhere smaller would be more appropriate.

the location of the one Lozzapops has linked to is fantastic. Such a stunningly beautiful area, and so much to see and do with a young family. I don't know the site but I can thoroughly recommend that part of France.

Sorry OP, you are Lozzapops!

Anyway, good call on booking that one.

Branleuse · 21/01/2015 16:45

if you have a two year old, then avoid august prices and go september or june while you still can :)

Lozzapops · 21/01/2015 17:07

Haha, HelloIts, that did make me laugh.

Branleuse have already booked I'm afraid, but by going on the 29th August for a week, we are into their September pricing, and have got a bargain!

excellent :)
we love eurocamp and have been the last two years. So far to Brittany and the Jura which were both great.
This year we're doing a short break just over the channel for easter, and then heading right down south to Argeles in May

Congrats! So good to have a summer holiday booked...

Willabywallaby · 21/01/2015 18:26

Did you book direct?

Lozzapops · 21/01/2015 20:55

Yes willabywallaby, booked direct, bombarded them with many questions before doing so, and they have been so helpful. My husband phoned to do the deposit over the phone (could have done bank transfer), and spoke to one of the owners, who was lovely apparently. Really looking forward to it!

Branleuse yes, that feeling of knowing it's all booked is fantastic. I am just far too impatient to wait now!
