Will it work flying with two different airlines?

I'm looking at European shorthaul flights. Would this work?

Fly out with aerlingus and fly back with ryanair.

Ryanair flies from my local airport to where I want to go, but not on Wednesdays (only Tuesdays and Saturdays). So I was thinking of going to a further away airport on Wednesday to fly out with aerlingus but then fly back again into my local airport with ryanair.

Will that work, to book 2 one ways?

Yes it's fine to do that. It never used to be financially viable to do it this way but DH does it a lot for short haul these days and has no problem.

Yes we've done it flyby one way and easyjet back. It was fine.

It works fine just don't park your car at one and come back to another lol.

I did it this year, although into and out of the same airport. Check luggage allowance, you don't want to have to pay a fortune to excess baggage on the way back because the allowance is less

I've done that this year.. Outbound Monarch, inbound Ryanair

We've done it with Monarch & easyjet in the last year or so.

Your return flight will be priced in euros which is a bit confusing.

We did it last summer - out with Sleazyjet, back with Moanarch. Both were fine. Makes sense these days.
