We'd like a bit of a treat holiday november/december with our 4/5 month old baby. We'd consider, US/Caribbean/Canaries/somewhere else hot ??!!
Would like hotel with activities and child care (for some of the time so I can get a break too ! and perhaps a listening service so dh and I could go for dinner?) . Anyone got any recommendations? Have looked at Club Med but not sure if I fancy the holiday camp type holiday and I think it is a very "French" experience hence, for eg, all the Caribbean Islands are the French ones so probably no direct flights.....
Thanks !

we went to pricessa yaiza hotel, playa blanca, lanzarote, with a 4mo and 2 yo. it was fab!

they are an all suite/apartment hotel- 5 star. they have free childcare, fantastic breakfast included, right on beach, 3 pools, hot tub, lots of on site and nearby restaurants. roomservice, but no baby listening.

we went with sovereign.

We took dd3 to Bahamas at 5 months - travel was fine (she'd already been to New York at 6 weeks) but the days were a bit of a pain. Too hot to take her outside so I stayed in while dh took other 3 snorkelling, to beach, pool etc. We went to the pool about 4 when one became shaded. Staeyed at huge Our Lucaya Westin resort. No child care for one so young. It was good but tbh I didn't have the great relaxing time I thought I would. If it had been my only break I would have been miffed. In retrospect, a nanny or relative would have made the holiday more fun for me. Canaries will be cooler then so probably easier. Just make sure you get a heated or pref indoor pool at that time of year.

We went to the Princessa Yaiza in Lanzarote too in March this year and it was fab(DS1 was 2.5, I was heavily pregnant). We had a suite, which meant if we stayed in DS could sleep in the bedroom and we could chill in the sitting room. We also used their babysitting service twice, and had no problems.
Just make sure you go in term time, and I'd probably suggest going half board too.
I booked it independently - BA for the flights and On the Beach and saved about a grand on the holiday brochure prices (although it still cost 2 grand....well worth it though)
Having said that, you might be better off taking advantage of the fact that you can go further afield given that your DC will be immobile, will only be on pretty limited solids (if any), and will be free!!! You can keep him/her in the shade, and even go swimming while they sleep (as I did with my 4mo in the Algarve!). Try this
Sorry for rambling - good luck and enjoy!

we paid a couple of grand too, dd1 got a free child place- with sovereign- and dd2 was free anyway as she was a baby. we had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apt, and stayed 11 nights.

we didnt like the cruise ship type buffets on the half bord option. breakfast was fab tho.

Thanks all,
Have booked Princess Yaiza now....looked like the best option and Thomson were pretty cheap - costed it separately and as a package and this seemed the best option.
Now have to face the packing for a 4 month old bottle fed baby !!....Saw those sterilising bags in Tesco yesterday which seem like a good option rather than lugging a microwavable steriliser around. Not sure how to keep entertained during the day....he spends most of his life getting very excited on his playmat but I'm not sure that I'm packing that on hols (although am tempted !!).....

Get a travel steriliser - does 2 bottles in 8 - 10 minds and much easier than the faff of bags in my experience. Costs about £10.
