I'd go to Rome. I was planning this with my kids this half term but A-levels work got in the way.
There will be lots of things interesting to see and if you chose room in the center then apart from bus journey to Vatican you can walk everywhere.

DiSneyland Paris?

Zanzibaragain · 14/10/2014 10:51

Rome sounds good, no arguments with a diet of pizza and icecream.

Any ideas for the UK as I need to check passports tonight, think kids are out of date.

Northumberland coast, Cotswolds, Dorset, New Forest - all great if the weather is dry. If weather is going to be rubbish, I'd strongly recommend a city break with museums to visit

Owllady · 14/10/2014 15:19

We're going to Devon. I love the coast st this time of year

Go to the opposite place to where you live, so "down sarf "if you live up north viva versa. It's surprising how different how different it is.
Second a city break. London,Bristol, York and Liverpool have all been ace.
Sail to Jersey as you don't need passports?

Zanzibaragain · 14/10/2014 20:54

Passport runs out in December so half term Europe ok.
Have a budget of about £800.00
Mon-fri poss Sunday night- Friday x4
Love your suggestion of opposite ends of the country but think I will save that for a better time of year weather wise.

Do you not need 6 months left on a passport?

antimatter · 14/10/2014 21:15

London in half-terms is full of parents with kids so I suggest somewhere else Smile

Zanzibaragain · 15/10/2014 16:03

Threequatersempty I learnt that lesson after standing in the sleet and rain for 3 hours in the queue outside that natural history museum a few half terms ago.

Barcelona. Great city.
Rome. Awe inspiring. Just beautiful.
Valencia. Great beach and museums. Cheaper than Barcelona.

Only1scoop · 15/10/2014 17:01

We are going to the West coast of Ireland....

4 nights.... Wild windy and probably wet but we love it Smile

Dinkydoos · 15/10/2014 17:05

Whereabouts are you based op? You could look at skyscanner for your nearest airport and set The destination to everywhere and see what cheap flights come up?
