Just how hot is Provence in July?

I love Provence and have been a number of times at the end of May and beginning of September. I find th temperature then perfect - hot but not too hot (although occasionally mistral days can put a dampener on things).

We are debating having 2 weeks away next july, mid - end of July. We would have to go at this time of year due to pesky time off from work.

According to the internet the average temperature then is about 30, which sounds OK, but I'm just concerned the highs will be alot higher and it will be so hot we won't have the energy to do anything. I have a 3 yo dd and we both aren't great in heat, although DH isn't bothered. We'll have a cool villa to retreat to with a pool to cool of in, but want to explore the area too. ALthough, we're usually up early so maybe we'll just have to time it so we're out early and back by lunch??

Is this a good idea or are we best off waiting for a time we can go when it's cooler?

Very hot. Mid thirties at least. It's a nice heat though, not a muggy one, so doesn't affect my energy levels too much.

It's very hot at night too though, so you might find it difficult to sleep.

oh no Sad it's sounding like it will just be too hot for us as DD and I really not good with heat. I know it's a different heat, but it's still hot IYKWIM. I miss Provence, haven't been in about 6 years

I love Provence, but I love the heat too.
It's also pretty busy during July, and particularly August, when the French holiday.
Where were you planning on going? You might be OK if you were up in the mountains.

Hotter than the sun. Damned hot. But still worth it. You have a pool - that will be invaluable. And you do adjust in quite a short space of time - but yes, explore early or late and spend the afternoons pottering/using the pool.

You'll need to take siestas

Really hot. I was in Nice a few years back in july, and the sand burnt my feet on the beach. It was glorious. 30 plus every day

Have you thought about Brittany for July? will be a few degrees cooler, and beautiful

middle we stay near Lourmarin, which is in the Vacluse region I think.

bran I've been to Brittany, I liked it but found it very similar to Cornwall. I don't do boats and with eurotunnel it's a loonnnggggggg drive.
