this used to be Simply travel and has just changed to Crystal Active. We went last Sept and it was very quiet but ideal - kids club was great, only 5 kids with 4 nannies - french baker came and delivered bread in the morning. Accomdation was basic (but typical holiday home)beach was clean and the little bar restaurant was good. we went last week in the season so it was really quiet so I am not sure what it would be like in mid-summer

ooh how exciting, a good holiday thread. have been thinking about this myself for '07. met someone at mousses, lefkas who'd been and said it was fab for children who'd outgrown the mousses creche. will watch this thread...

ps she wasnt at all a 'mark warner' type- no offense to anyone who's done MW but read a scary thread about a certain MW 'type'that put me off.

alp · 27/09/2006 21:40

there was a complete mix of people with and without kids.....the sailing was closed when we were there so there wasn't anyone making us to do anything but again I went at the end of the season so this probably isn't a true reflection. We had a 'bigger' place for 4 adults and 1 kiddie. The space was OK - we were a litle squeezed as we had a travel cot in with us but living space was OK. They but a sofa bed in the lounge and class this as spaces so will charge under occupancy which is ridiculous.
Check out babygoes2.com as if we mentioned that website we got 1 weeks free creche which was a right result!

thesmiths · 28/09/2006 08:34

didn't know about mentioning Babygoes2!!!

Lovely laid back staff and guests - no pressure to do anything or socialise.

PcCOD · 28/09/2006 08:58

noonar · 28/09/2006 17:51

another couple of questions...was there any baby listening/ would baby monitors reach the bar/restaurant? or is not feasible to leave children at night? also, is there air con?

agree that website is crap. wonder if brochure is more detailed.

PcCOD · 28/09/2006 18:04

noonar · 29/09/2006 09:24

berrycherry · 29/09/2006 09:38

is there a pool? my dd's love swimming so defintely need somewhere with a pool.

willow2 · 29/09/2006 09:39

Don't think so as right on beach

Bink · 29/09/2006 09:50

We went there when it was Simply Travel, in high season.
Not our scene, but cod it may well be yours - it's very sporty, & a bit Bodeny but not worse than that.

The "villas" (think of them as mobile-park-type "chalets" so you won't be disappointed) are different sizes, so I think space will be fine for you. Basic. People who were doing repeat visits took their own pillows. Eg. No air-conditioning. You can get fans but there was a scramble for them (not quite enough to go round) and the electricity supply not always quite up to it.

Eating out in evenings - there is the little beach bar/restaurant thing - (PS monitors wouldn't reach anywhere near - it's the other side of the beach) - otherwise you have to book in babysitting, and (as with the fans) when we were there there weren't enough babysitters to go round for us to eat out more than twice in two weeks. So plan on self-catering, which most people seemed to think fine.

No pool (except for paddling pool in baby club), but the beach is right there and really pretty nice - except, weirdly, that the sand is slightly crystally so won't make sandcastles. Not a big problem.

Bink · 29/09/2006 10:33

There should have been a sentence break after "sporty", shouldn't there? Ahem.

PcCOD · 29/09/2006 10:33

no pool would be a prob for us too, as i was hoping to teach dd1 to swim. and no air con... could be back to the drawing board.
