Just that really. Has anyone visited Colchester Zoo recently with little ones? Will I need a full day or will an afternoon suffice?

Did you enjoy it? What were you favourite 'bits'?

I took DS (four) at the end of the holidays. We went twice in a week and didn't do everything there. It took four hours just to walk around and see all the animals, then there is the train, watching all the animals being fed, feeding the goats/horse, playing on all the playparks, spending time in the soft play area etc.

Thanks Uterus - extremely helpful!

What wandering said. It takes about 4 hours to walk around, so if you want to see things twice, a full day is a must! I personally loved the train as we got to get off and walk around the Lemur enclosure Grin

Yes you need a full day. I second what RumPunch said and would add do see the leaf cutting ants in the giraffe house. They fascinate me and the DC. Which ant will bite off the biggest bit of leaf, which ones are the fastest Grin

Yes, definitely get on the train. It's down near the Tigers. There might be a queue, but it's definitely worth it, to get off and walk around inside the ring tailed lemur enclosure.

Elephant and giraffe feeding is fun, and there are lots of other displays, talks and feeding times you can see, so check the map when you get there to see what is on, and what you fancy seeing.

We have been quite a few times, and love it!
