Come and visit me!!

Well, you could sort of. We live right by the coast and thats worth a visit if the weather is anywhere near decent. The beaches are good and sandy though bloody cold. Tynemouth/Whitley Bay/Cullercoats probably the best. Get some chips and sit in the sand........Sea Life Centre in Tynemouth has some nice fish etc but bit pricey and doesn't take long to get round (well not for my 2)

More for grown-ups is a flea market every Sunday at Tynemouth Station (nice Victorian station)

What else?

There is the Discovery Museum in Blandford Square - city centre. It has things on over Easter for little uns like egg painting and craft. Its free & there is lots of things for my 2 (3&18mnths) to do in the activity room, plus restaurant with not bad food.....

Also Life Museumn nr Central Station but might be for older kids.

Don't know how old yours are, but if you are shopping in Newcastle and the kids need a break there is a good soft play area in the Recreation Centre in Eldon Square called Space Base......gets rid of some boredom.

Wet n' Wild - usual pool stuff in Wallsend

Erm, will post if think of anymore.

Not sure about where you can stay. Depends what you want and how old your kids are. By the coast might be nice........

Have a great time anyway.

How about this link for Newcastle museums, galleries, etc. And this one for Gateshead.

Pets Corner in Jesmond Dene ...some ducks, pigs, bunnies etc and nice little park plus cafe ...can take up couple of hours. Take some bread.

Washington Wildfowl Park (might need car for that one). Good outdoor park, nice food.

Ohh yes and if you do have a car Whitehouse Farm near Morpeth, now thats a day job. Petting farm with lots of activities and rough an' ready cafe with softplay......I really like it there.

The choice is really if you want to be near the city or the coast.

Jesmond is more or less city centre and there are lots of b&bs around the Osbourne Rd area and hotels. You could try a Google search. Town is handy for the shops of course and the Recreation centre I was on about in Eldon Square. The coast isnt' far if you wanted a trip out you could get the metro from the centre right out to the sea - kids would probably love it. I hope the weather is good for you. And seriously, your kids ages are so near mine, if you wanted some company. I'm not a sick saddo stalker honest - I'm married and everything.........

If you wanted to stay at the coast, there are loads of B&Bs but not sure how good they are.
