ok, I've narrowed my baby carrier list to these three... what do you think? Which one should I buy and why?

Ok, after much research I've got these baby carriers down as my top three
mei tai/mei tai hip carrier
Kangaroo korner
ergo

has anyone here used any of these?
Please please can you let me know if you loved, hated any and why. it's so hard to know without trying on.
I've looked a sites such as the baby carrier and other threads on MN, but would love some opinions on these three specifically. Thankyou.

Is this for a newborn or an older child?

I've used the Ergo and a Mei Tai style carrier for DS from about 7-8 months. Pretty similar, really -- the Ergo is basically a Mei Tai style anyway but with clips instead of ties. The Ergo has better padding on the shoulders but doesn't fold down as neatly as a Mei Tai. I didn't think there was much to choose between them, but DH much preferred the Ergo.

Haven't used a Kangaroo Korner but am tempted for a hypothetical #2.

TOO MUCH CHOICE

I like the wilkinet personally

I can only recommend these because they are comfy, have a shoulder pad (essential to stop fabric bunching on trapezius muscle), ridged rings (stops fabric sliding through and having to constantly readjust), and it is possible to feed newborns through to toddlers in it.

I think for an older child as I have a sling I'm happy with for a new born. Interesting that you say the mei tai and ergo are really the same, different prices though!

anymore ideas anyone?

Ergo is probably slightly more comfortable for longer periods. And more likely to fit a large DH comfortably.

I have Ergo but haven't tried any of the others. The ergo is a big success - very comfy to wear, ds loves it, dh loves carrying him in it (although he does end up with a v sweaty back). Ds used to always go to sleep in it in which case the hood thing that supports their head is essential but guess that they would all have somehing similar.

Seems like an Ergo it is. I'll have to try and track a cheaper one on ebay
Thanks for the feedback.
