....so I've used mine at tube stations, going in and coming out, but what about buses? I "clock in" on the sensor as I get on the bus, but am I also supposed to "clock out" again when I get off it?

Nope, you don't need to clock out on a bus.

Thanks

niet. clock in only on bus. i really heart my oyster card! Wish it could be used on all trains in greater Londinium. It then would be the perfect travel card imo.

I think they are super too!

So clever aren't they. I keep wondering why I see so many people still standing in queues on Monday morning & try to imagine why they aren't all using Oyster cards too!!!!

RTKangaMummy · 19/09/2006 13:39

If you get one how do they work if you go into london and want a day traveller card

ie met line/jubilee then a bus into west end

I am really confused what they do

TheBlonde · 19/09/2006 13:40

You add credit to it using a machine in the tube station - cash or credit card
You swipe in and out everywhere and at the end of the day it won't charge you more than a one day travel card

ShiverMeMolesworths · 19/09/2006 13:40

Once you've done a certain number of journeys your oyster is automatically charged at the day travel card rate (well actually it's cheaper than you'd pay in cash for one by about 50p)

I heart my oyster too

RTKangaMummy · 19/09/2006 13:41

So if you are 2 adults and one child

do you need 3 or share 1 ?

Total idiot me

ScummyMummy · 19/09/2006 13:48

1 card per person. Your child will be free on the buses if under 16 and on tubes too if under 11 though.

TheBlonde · 19/09/2006 13:49

Child goes free
Adults need one card each

RTKangaMummy · 19/09/2006 13:50

He is 11
