Trunki boostapak

We are off to KL in September and given how difficult it is to get car seats there, We are considering buying a trunki boostapak for my 3 year old DD. She is just 15kg so on the minimum weight but given the other alternative is sitting on my lap for the few journeys we are doing I feel it might be safer. Does anybody have any experience of it with a child at the minimum weight limit? Thanks!

I have one and think it's great. I bought it for my son who was about 5 at that point and used to go and stay with family for the odd night and it was really useful - booster and overnight bag in one easy package!

I also went on to use it with my niece occasionally from about 15kg and had no problems at all.

We've got one. It is basically a booster cushion, so would you put your child on a booster cushion?
Its very useful with the storage space, and my little one could carry it about herself.

My dds have bubblebum booster seats as we travel a lot. They roll up to the size of a can of beans and get stuffed in my carry on bag with wheels. They have their own carry on bags but they are filled with crap stuff to keep them busy on flights

We've had one for DS since he was that size. It's still one of the best holiday purchases we've ever made.
We always figured it's better than nothing, it's in better nick than many booster seats hire companies have given us over the years and over 2 trips it paid for itself.
On short haul I use it for my hand luggage with my handbag inside which I then remove when we use the seat. DS then takes his trunki & we only take 2 hold bags instead of 3.

Thanks all.

Mummytime-I wouldn't normally put her just on a booster cushion but definitely feel that's safer than no seat at all Smile

We used them for DTDs when they were not long turned 4 (on holiday to Malaysia too, as it happens!). I can't remember what they weighed, but since they are small for their age I'd guess they were pretty close to the weight limit.

DH and I carried the Booster packs as hand luggage on the flight(s), we were worried they might be a bit on the small side for all the stuff needed inflight but actually was a bonus because it forced us to think carefully about not carrying a load of extra crap.
