Also:

Would you book with travel agent or online yourself?

Stay on site or nearby?

Will join threads for tips later but for now just want to know basics!

Yay.. but I don't like the humid heat of the summer. Feb tends to hover between 18-28 for the highs.... though early morning can feel nippy around 10-15 deg cooler..

It is also one of the drier months.

Presidents day weekend (presidents day is 3rd Mon in Feb) and mardi gras are the only busy times - BUT because of that you really need to check that the attractions you really want to go on are open - they use the slack time from end of New year holiday to start of March for any major refurbishments.

I would personally stay in a villa with pool (and pay for pool heating) nearby, as we like the freedom to chill by our own pool sometimes. And the reduced cost of eating.. - pizza and a bag of salad, big breakfast before hitting the parks, and the ability to stretch out of an evening without having to share a room with the kids..

nearby - applies to villa location - not pool....

We have stayed the last two years in Feb. Perhaps we were just lucky with weather but it was fantastic, dry and sunny and around 25/30 degrees. We fly out on the first Monday of half term and do two weeks from them to early March. This always works out cheapest for flights.

We stayed on-site as its a free dining period (wouldn't otherwise). So if you are staying in a Disney hotel then you get food at any Disney hotel or theme park included. So you can eat at Cinderellas castle for free!

I think it's a great time to go, weather is dry and sunny, crowds are low. We booked fastpasses in advance and downloaded the app (free Wi-F everywhere at Disney) and didn't queue once.

We booked as a package with Disney direct as weirdly that works out cheapest!

Ask me if you have any questions!

Oh, and blizzard beach will be shut. It's always shut then. Typhoon lagoon is open though.

The other thing that is always shut is splash mountain. Didn't have anything else closed when we went although you could get unlucky.

Thanks both! Have been looking online via disney direct too, but thought we'd go to a travel agents to see if they have anything better. I think if you book everything through them then it's just as good.

I hadn't really considered things being closed tbh - will double check but then I guess we could always book and they decide later to close it. We'll be taking a 4yo and a 7mo so not too bothered about blizzard beach tbh. Mainly going so 4yo can see princesses & castles and we can go in some rides.

Which villa/resort did you both stay in?

Thanks for the offer stairs - will come back with more questions!

The first time we stayed at Caribbean beach, second time at old key west. Both Disney properties.

I know lots of people who stay at villas and love it, by the way! But we only have DS (7) we decided to stay on site as he is really sociable and loved evenings round the pool with all the other kids watching Disney movies, etc.

Kenwood travel also do lots of Disney holidays.

We stayed at a villa in Emerald Island resort - really close, easy drive to the parks - 10-15 min drive if the roads were busy, quiet gated community- the villa we were in had it's own pool, but there was also a clubhouse with pool etc.. It was also close to a supermarket and TGI fridays etc..

I like space on holiday - and not having to all share a room, having our own pool, being able to cook a meal and store food for the parks was important to us too as eating out was costly if you didn't want "fries with that".
