I would like to be walking distance to the town/lake and would prefer not to be in a mobile home. Otherwise quite flexible. It would be Dh, dd and I.

Any suggestions?

We stayed in Peschiera, it was lovely. Bardolino also a good choice. We went to Verona from there and to Gardaland. Hired pedaloes on the lake, swam in the lake, hired a speedboat. It was a great place to holiday.

We stayed in the Hotel La Perla in Garda. It wasn't the most fancy of places and was a bit 80s Grin but spotlessly clean. Food was amazing, buffet breakfasts and 3 course main meal with a buffet selection of salads.

The pool though. It was amazing. You did have to walk up the road to it and up a flight of stairs, but it was huge, in the most beautiful garden, had a little pool bar for snacks (v. reasonable) and was spotlessly clean again. If you went early enough it was no problem getting a bed, but the staff would do their best to bring out new ones for you and move people about if they were hogging 10 umbrellas.

Would totally recommend. DD spent the best part of a week in the water.

The town gets busy at high season but it's such a pleasant atmosphere. The promenade is lovely and there's usually music at night. Lots of places for ice cream.
