Is anyone else heading for SE Asia in the next couple of weeks? The long range forecast is dire, please someone tell me they sometimes get it wrong. Sad

The rain in Thailand tends to come in short bursts and 5 minutes after a downpour it's completely dry again. It hardly ever rains all day. I'll happily take your place on the holiday if it worries you grin

hmmm, I meant Grin

GloryHunter · 27/07/2014 20:51

Thanks flump. I hope you're right because weather map is showing rain all day.

We are going on fri- have been lots at this time of year. Normally rains every evening in Bangkok for about an hour and other parts of thailand depends where you are but rarely more than an hour or so. Have a great holiday Smile

Glory we're going to Phuket next week. I've just looked at the forecast & it's thunderstorms & rain for the whole time. Sad.

Im in Singapore at moment, have been here 2 weeks, everyday the forecast is rain and storms, we've maybe had 10 mins worth in that time! today is the 1st day it has rained for more than one hour, its still roasting and certainly doesnt spoil enjoyment, hope that helps

GloryHunter · 29/07/2014 09:26

That makes me feel much happier, thank you very much aud0606 Smile

It is the rainy season for Phuket at the moment, so expect some rain. However, unlikely to rain all day every day. I was in Java last week and despite it being the dry season, it rained nearly every day, but not for long and didn't stop us doing everything we wanted to do.
Hope you have a great holiday.
Se Asia us pretty wet in July - driest areas are Borneo, Indonesia, parts of Malaysia, and eastern side of Thailand.

We went to Thailand last year - forecast was rain every day. The first day it rained for about 2 or 3 hours but was warm and we were still by the pool - diving for cover occasionally. The rest of the time there was less than an hour a day. Don't worry - have a great time

GloryHunter · 29/07/2014 17:27

Thanks all. At least worrying about the weather has taken my mind off the looooooooong flight, now there's another thread Wink

We are in koh Tao just near koh samui and it has been dry and hot mostly with a little bit of drizzly rain just yesterday for a couple of hours, Bangkok was overcast but obviously still hot. Have a good trip.
