Single parent Orlando holiday

I'm taking my DC's (3 & 10) to Orlando and would like to hear from other single parent travellers. Any advice/tips? Our holiday has been booked for a while and I felt fairly confident that I could do this on my own, but now that the departure date is days away, I'm starting to panic!

You be fine , have a great time , your older child if tall enough can do a few of the bigger rides as a single rider and be near front of the queue , fill seats this way , that's if there confident enough of going on by themselves.
There's plenty to keep everyone happy , use the tickets for food with meals , just buy one adult and one child meal and share between three of you more than enough food . Lots of restaurants have free children's meals when you buy an adults.
Public transport around international drive is easy to use , as is to Disney / universal if you want to stay longer than hotel buses.
You all have a wonderful time , there that much to do .

Will you be in a Disney hotel or a villa?

You are brave! I have been thinking of doing the same but probably chickened out. I would love to know how you get on.

I travelled to Florida last year, just dd and I, dd was 7.

We had a ball, I felt perfectly safe and would do it again as soon as I win the lotteryWink

I only ask as I would have no problems doing it if I could use the shuttle buses but I wouldn't have the confidence to hire a car and villa on my own. Anyway that's not what you want to hear.
You will be fine there is so much to do and everyone is so helpful nothing is too much trouble. I'm on my win with two teens and if I had the money I would def do it again.

If within budget get a car with sat nav as it will give you more options and freedom. It takes only a day to get used to the car and driving on the other side. The 3YO will find walking round the parks tiring by lunchtime so I recommend getting a stroller even if they say they're fine. They will be glad of it (and I bet the 10YO takes a turn - mine did). Florida is so kid-friendly and easy, you'll have a ball.

I'm not a single parent either but h isn't keen on Orlando, so for the past 6 years I've been taking the dc by myself. First time dc were 2,6&10. It was fine.

I prefer staying on international drive and using the I trolley and the hotel shuttles to the parks rather than drive.

Make use if the fast passes where free and consider them for places that charge. We go the last two weeks in August and after that first weekend it gets quieter as I think all of the American children have gone back to school by then.

There is so much to do everywhere accept that in two weeks it's impossible to do it all. Plan the must do and do those and then be flexible for everything else.

Skip discovery cove. It's expensive and not worth it. Especially the dolphin 'swim' (15-20 seconds actual swim)

It's very casual, we ate on the way home from the parks, we'd get off the I trolley where we saw something we fancied. It's much cheaper that way too. You don't need to change for dinner it's all shorts and tshirts you'll probably feel overdressed in maxi dress etc.

I hated it but the kids loved chuckee cheese. It's a pizza restaurant in the middle of an arcade but was ok and kept the dc entertained.

Make sure you schedule in more relaxing days at the water parks as there is a lot of walking and it's nice to spend a day floating down the lazy river etc.

Kids favourite is aquatica, we find wet n wild a bit on the rougher side to be honest.

Relax stick to the tourist areas and you'll be fine. It's so busy everywhere and lots of people will chat in the queues etc.

Have fun.
