Disneyland Paris with almost 2 year old - 1 day or 2?

We are going to Disneyland Paris at the start of August and we are just booking it now! We have looked at rides shows etc in both parks and at face value looks like both parks would be good for DS.

What we want to know is should we buy tickets for 1 day or 2? I don't want to have to try and cram everything in to 1 day at the park as it may be more than DS and DP would be able to handle however I don't want to waste money going for 2 days if both parks can be comfortably done in 1. I hope that makes sense :-/

We have also two hotels in mind one in Paris centre and 1 in Bussy Saint George which is much closer to Disney, does anyone have experience on this as we do want to see Paris and some of the landmarks etc during the day and night.

I must say we are driving from Edinburgh and will be staying in Paris for 4 nights however first day almost right off as travelling day and the last day we need to be at ferry for 3pm so again only really have the morning.

Any advice tips experience shared would be much appreciated.

Disneyland Paris is a very big place. Many of the rides are unsuitable for small children as young as two. The Parade is fun. There are loads, and loads and loads of shops there, be prepared to take plenty of money if you take him in any of the shops. I took an adult with severe learning disability two years ago. Most of the rides were unsuitable for her. We stayed a week in a hotel an hours bus ride away. 2 days was plenty for her and she was very tired. There is a lot of walking to do, it's a big place. As you're only going for 4 days, and driving from Edinburgh, I suggest 1 day will be enough for him. As you will be staying in Paris, you will get to see and do plenty there. It is expensive too, much more so than the UK. Hope you have a great time and take plenty of photos of the three of you. The lady I took had a special time seing cinderella in the parade, and loved it when she and the Prince stopped and chatted for a few minutes. Unforgettable, even though she's not my child, it was my job. Bon voyage!

Fantasyland and the parades are best for a 2 year old. Most of the rest is for older ones. Expect long queues for everything, up to an hour. Enjoy just strolling around. I think one day is enough given your child won't be able to do a lot of the rides

We've stayed in Bussy St Georges and it was handy for DLP and about 40 mins to l'Etoile direct by train. If you are driving stay outside of Paris. You could easily pop back to the Disney village in an evening for a parade, shops or to eat (no ticket required).

How much does your ds sleep and will he nap in a buggy? Agree most will go over his head and many rides/shows are non-starters. However you could catch a parade in each park by splitting across 2 days and pacing yourselves. iirc you can add a day/s to your pass at a discount while you are there.

If you are driving the cabins are good (davey crocket). It's a very pleasant setting in the woods, some lovely trails. Good swimming pool, and the characters visit too. Also a little farm and playground. If you did 2 days it would be a nice base.
