Bacon to France?

We're going to stay with OH's godson near Paris, travelling by Eurostar. He (the godson) loves British bacon (the French stuff just isn't the same apparently), so we'd like to take some with us. There's nothing on the Eurostar website to say that we can't, but can anyone tell me whether there are restrictions on taking bacon into France, please? I'm normally good at finding information on the internet, but am struggling with this.

Thanks.

We bring loads and loads back in our coolbox on the ferry, never had any problems at all...

Thanks Jen... the French customs website doesn't rule it out, but seems a bit ambiguous in places. I think as long as it's pre-packed and sealed, it'll be fine. And will make a young man very happy.

On my last visit home I brought back an English cheeseboard back in my wash bag, British sausages in all my shoes and packs of bacon layered in my towel. Grin

We take loads back with us too in cool bags / boxes - mostly cheese and sauccison but never have any problems.

Wally, I think I love you.

Thanks again, all. And in the spirit of cultural exchange, we will be coming back with a lot of Laughing Cow apericubes and little French biscuity things.
