Looking for good quality long haul all inclusive with kids club and good beach. Things to see and do in area as we go out and about a lot. Good weather may-June

Have ruled out:
Thailand due to travel insurance issue re recent coup, dh not keen on cruise.
Barbados, st Lucia, Mexico, Antigua, mauritius, Mexico, Grenada, Grenadines, Malaysia, mauritius as have been before and fab though they are use like to try new places.
Budget won't stretch to Maldives or Seychelles
Thinking of ruling out Cuba and Dom rep

Possible New York and carribbean 2 centre, would likely be to Jamaica?

Where have I not considered?

Budget 5200 ish plus spending money

Thanks

How old are your DC's? We stayed at FDR in Jamaica and I loved it because of the childcare/kids club etc. (DCs were very young and it felt like the first time in 2 years I had a moment to myself). It wasn't super smart but made up for it in lots of ways. Trip advisor reviews are very useful in giving a flavour of the place. I have relatives that have stayed in amazing hotels all over the world but they went there time and time again when their kids were young. That was a few years ago now though and we never actually left the hotel so didn't get hassled etc.

Have never done new York so if I could combine with somewhere else that would be goo!

Who did you book with and are you doing NYC or Mexico first? Your trip sounds fab Heels

ihatethecold · 22/07/2014 16:10

Please tell a all about it!
I love holidays. Just can't afford them Grin

Heels99 · 22/07/2014 16:44

Booked with kenwood, was cheaper than virgin. Staying on carribbean coast but different resort. So city/ beach combo. Tried to get NYC with st Lucia, Antigua etc but was either not possible or mega bucks.

Thank you, it sounds lovely and such a good idea doing twin centre compared to NYC as a separate trip.

Heels99 · 22/07/2014 18:31

Where are you off to chicken fajita?

A Black Sea cruise followed by a week in Turkey very soon 6 sleeps

I'm still undecided for next year though so I may have to start a thread.

We normally have a long haul trip during the Feb half term or Easter and a European holiday in the summer. But now my teens have exams it gets a bit trickier knowing what to do for the best with regards to their revision.

In the past I have thought up some really good trips and love a twin centre break like you are having but I'm having a bit of a dither at the moment.

Heels99 · 22/07/2014 18:59

Oh wow have a great time! Haven't ever done a cruise would like to try one, not persuaded dh yet. You must report back!

heels99 cruises are fab-our favourite holidays

Heels, don't rule out the Makdives. Kuoni are doing 14 nights all inclusive, 25 May, 1room two adults one child for £5,200 on Biyadhoo. If you shop around you will easily get it at £5,000 or less. Biya is a budget island in Maldives terms, rather like a posh French camp site. Good food, lovely friendly atmosphere, amazing snorkelling. Rooms clean and spacious with good aircon, but a bit scruffy. No kids club, but our grandkids first went there when 4 and 6 and had a wonderful time swimming and playing in the sand. Have a look at the Trip Advisor reviews.

Trickydecision · 23/07/2014 13:59

Can't answer for the mysterious Makdives, but recommend the Maldives.

ChickenFajitaAndNachos · 23/07/2014 15:01

I might do a Makdives/Maldives twin centre!

Trickydecision · 23/07/2014 22:12

Perfect choice, ChickenF. Make sure you tell us how you get on. And don't forget to watch out for the Makdivian team in Glasgow.
