We're currently on the first leg of our hols in a lovely quaint hotel in an old town in Turkey, going on to an all-inclusive beach resort type place for the first time on Monday. A family suite was extortionate so we went for a double room, hoping we could get the two to nap in the pushchair in the early evening so we wouldn't have to rush back so early for bedtime. The plan hasn't worked thus far and my usually lovely DC1 has turned into a right little terror due to lack of sleep/routine, and that's with her having her own adjoining room.
We'll be all bundled together in one room at the next place and I'm resigning myself to 7 o'clock bedtimes for all of us! I was so looking forward to having nice evenings when it got a bit cooler with a few drinks maybe and making an effort for dinner. We tried to get her to have an afternoon nap yesterday but she's been out of the habit for a year so she wouldn't go down. We tried a very late nap and she ended up getting really disorientated when she woke up as it was sleep for the night territory.
How does everyone manage holiday routines for two small different aged DCs and being in the same room? Any tips much appreciated, don't want to spend the next 12 evenings stuck on our hotel balcony...
