CP de Kempervennen - travel and towels and food

Anyone done this via public transport? How straightforward is it? We'll be travelling from Amsterdam, and I think we get a train to Eindhoven, then two buses. Had thought about hiring a car at Eindhoven, but can't get one to fit the six of us Sad.

Also, what do I need by way of towels? We have the VIP package, so get bath towels, but presumably I'll need to take swimming towels as well? Or can I hire them there? Or is there a cheap supermarket nearby?

And finally, we're considering the evening meal deal thing - what's the food like? We have one picky eater (chicken and chips stylee), but the rest like to try different stuff.

Is there anything else I need to know? How long will it take to lug our cases from the front reception to where i think we are right at the back? Do I actually need to hire bikes? Not been on a bike for about 30 years....

Haven't done it by public transport but:

Towels - yes you will need swimming towels. The supermarket there is very good and reasonably priced and there is a shop that sells swim stuff. Don't think you can hire them.

Food - we did the dine around option which I thought was good value for money - you could have pretty much everything off the menus. I wasn't overly impressed by the market dome buffet place, though there is something for everyone, but thought the food in the grill and the pasta place was very nice. Huge portions.

Probably from the entrance to the far side is a good 20 min walk. You can rent electric carts and pedal carts for an hour or 2 from the bike shop - which it at the entrance - so might be handy for transporting the luggage on day 1. We rented bikes and found them very useful for getting about. You can cycle to the village and the Pancake house. There is not very much else in the near vicinity.

thanks Porto, looks like our packing options may need to be re-looked at.

I would echo what porto says. We didn't do it by public transport so can't comment on how easy it us but we hired bikes and found them very useful. Some days it was nice to just cycle round the area or cycle to the indoor ski place of Aqua Mundo. We ate at the pancake house and the Grand Café and as I remember they were okay.
