Hi been 7 years since we`ve had an over seas holiday due to dh health. Think we are going to find it very expensive as there are 5 of us. We have plenty of luggage allowance between us so ideas would be lovely as to where we could save some euros! Food stuff/beach stuff etc. Last time we went to Majorca we were paying £5 a day for a sunshade, thinking of buying a collapsible one from Amazon. Thanks :)

There is a Euroski about 5 minutes outside of the main town, next to lidl, Sa Coma is on the other side of the island, you would spend more in petrol that you would save on shopping

Thank you Emma, I shall look all those places up! Origin The Golden Lion has been doing the best chicken since we started going to PP in the late 80`s, nice to know its still going strong. Nancy, we used to have an apartment in Pinaret, really regret selling it but had to at the time. Tangos used to be in the main square, they redeveloped it and they are apartments there now. I hear its as popular as ever and that they do a very good take away service even providing napkins!

Hello, We go to Pollensa and Alcudia too. I recommend the huge Eroski and Lidl supermarkets which on the main road to PP. Do a massive shop then eat in or take picnics.

Is the Eroski the one on the left as you go from Pollensa down to the Port? We`d have to cycle!

Hola day 5 and having a lovely time! We have eaten very well but the best so far was the chicken at the golden lion last night.......it was to die for. Just had a coffee an her at the taught club really god value 6 Euros for 3drinks. Off to the caves ofdrach tomorrow we have been before but the kids haven't. The port hasdef changed sports bars etc but it still has its charm! Adios!!

Apologies for typo used my sons hudl for the first time!! Got back yesterday, did not want to come home! The boys and I had a fantastic time, enjoyed every minute. Dd did not, she hardly left the apt, too hot, didn`t like the food etc and missed her friends. Dh was not well most of the time, all bowel related! Since had bowel cancer it has never been right and sadly he suffered most of the holiday and came back 2 kilos lighter.............unlike me! We did find it very expensive in some places but ok in others, we found a very good supermarket the hypocentral I think it was called off of calle joan x111 which was really good. We only had one night in and got a take away from the Codfather fish and chips but all were put off after finding a maggot in the bag!!!!! Our fav restaurant this time was the Guru, very near the apartment, good food and atmosphere. The best chicken was still the Golden Lion, never tasted chicken so good. We took your tip Emma and went to the Yacht Club for coffee (or beer in my case) and yes it was lovely and only 6 euros for three drinks. On average we spent 80-90 euros a night on eating out which to us is a lot, but I kept telling myself I would have been a lot more in the UK. Did not want to come home, although PP has changed, ie too many Italian/Indian/Chinese etc restaurants the place still remains as lovely as the first time we went in 1987. :)
