The Blue Lagoon Village in Kos fits the bill but it was already be full. Maybe one of the Sensetori resorts?

CanaryYellow · 25/06/2014 14:08

Sensatori - any one of them. They are all great.

There are some lovely ones in Turkey (Belek/Antalya)

Gloria
Xanadu
Papillon

Most on that coast are 5 star a.i.

We've stayed in a couple and my parents have been to a few as they golf out there quite a bit. They're also foodies and loved the food in all the above hotels.

Have a look on sovereign holidays some lovely hotels

AugustaProdworthy · 25/06/2014 14:31

Sensatori Greece
Aphrodite Hills Cyprus

Newhere2 · 25/06/2014 14:33

thanks all.

We've been to Turkey quiet a bit and I agree the standard is high there in good resorts for food & entertainment.

Trying to decide if we do turkey again or try a new country.

I'll check out the Sensatori resorts

We went to the Atlantica Aegean Blue in Rhodes at Easter. Booked with Thomson. It was fantastic - loads for kids, onsite waterpark plus swimming pools, constant kids club/activities, amazing food, great beaches. Best holiday we've had. Think sensatori is probably more luxurious but we loved the Aegean Blue

Sidge · 25/06/2014 14:42

Whatevertheweather I took my DDs to the Aegean Blue last August and loved it too. We had a great holiday and I couldn't fault the hotel. Smile

mrsnec · 25/06/2014 14:55

Not sure if you can get them on ai but look at the Capo Bay and Adams Beach in Cyrpus too.

Also recommend Antalya but not specific hotels as we stay in the smaller ones.

the atlantica Aegean Blue looks nice. Did your kids feel comfortable with the slides etc? did you always go with them or did they meet other kids and play etc?

7yo DD made lots of friends and played with them, she went on the pirate ship slides etc in the waterpark on her own but the 3/4 bigger slides we went on with her. Little dd was only 18 months but loved the kids pools and crèche. The Thomson and hotel staff were some of the best we've ever encountered, nothing was too much trouble and they were excellent with the children

Francagoestohollywood · 25/06/2014 15:12

The Forte Village in Sardinia

Newhere2 · 25/06/2014 15:20

thanks Whatevertheweather, were there lots of children that can speak english? We've always ended up in mainly french speaking resorts which has stopped the kids making friends.

It sounds like it might be a good choice.

The week we were there I would say 90% of the children were English. As it's a thomson resort all of the kids club reps etc were English and all the entertainment was in English. Though as we were leaving there did seem to be quite a few Germans arriving but again they had their own tour operator company so I think the kids clubs were seperate

Sidge · 25/06/2014 15:57

My DDs were 14, 9 and 6 when we went. My younger two went on the smaller slides and the lazy river and I went with them on the bigger slides. The waterpark is to the side of the hotel and away from the main pool area so I tended to go to the waterpark with them, or be around the pool area with them even if I didn't have to watch them constantly. There's plenty of seating in the waterpark so I could lounge on a chair with my book whilst they played/swam/splashed.

They also went to the Thomson Kids Club and loved it, the staff were brilliant (DD2 has SN and they were fab with her). There were plenty of British children there for them to make friends with.

The food was great and the hotel was immaculately clean. Despite going in August it was not overcrowded and we always managed to get sunloungers.
