I'm going to DLP next Friday with DH and it's the first time he will be going so I want to make sure he enjoys it. We have a 1 day pass for the 2 parks and i'm not sure what the best plan of action is. Which do we go to first? its not school hols so I'm hoping it won't be super packed.

Where's the best place to eat? not fussed as to whether it's sit down or fast food but I would like reasonably good value for money. I will be sneaking in some snacks and water but I don't want to carry lunch with us all days.
which shows are not to be missed?
He's not really a roller coaster person but I definitely am and luckily for him space mountain is closed at the moment. Is it better to go to the Studio park first thing and then go into the main park after lunch? it doesn't even open until 10am for us because we are not staying in the hotel.
I want to make sure he has the proper disney experience and won't be put off going back when we have DCs.

Thank you!

I would say that the Hollywood side has some good thrill things - such as the car stunt show and the movie set train ride, plus the Armageddon experience which aren't rides but have more of an adult appeal to them?

If it were me, I'd get a map downloaded and work out between us what we wanted to go on, and then divide the time up between the parks.

There are parades in both, but the main park one is obviously the best one to see. So perhaps end in that one?

Make sure you pick up those fast pass tickets from the relevant machines for certain rides.

Most of the food is fast food, the best deal seems to be half a chicken, it's all quite samey if I recall.....

You can eat in the Village, but obviously that's not park time. Perhaps pick a restaurant that coincides with a show?

The restaurants in the park are extortionately priced, and not very good. You're best bet is to go outside of the park to eat - into Paris maybe.

We did the Disney park the first day, and the studios the second - seemed to work OK.

Are you going over a weekend? The park was busier on Sunday than Saturday - I think the locals tend to go on Sundays.

Neither park is very big, and they aren't very far apart.

I don't like roller coasters either but I did !ike Thunder Mountain.

Op only has one day at the park though? So would really need to eat either a picnic or some lunch in the park?

Youdontneedacriminallawyer · 13/06/2014 00:00

Ah. Missed that bit.

Tbh, I didn't rate DLP at all! Too small, and Americana in the middle of France didn't sit well with me.

I would concentrate on the studios then, though both parks are really aimed at little kids.

I would have a big breakfast, take some snacks, and eat elsewhere in the evening, unless you want to be fleeced.

I agree. When you have kids you need a sit down meal. If it was just DH I would eat sandwiches in the queue!!!

Oh god. It's dire. Food terrible.

Plus too small for adults

Op there's a mcdonalds to the left in the village as you walk past the train station before you enter the park. Don't eat in the park stay left eat maccie ds breakfast. Same price as over here. Or pack pastries in your pockets, bags get searched people don't! It's great for a short trip, smaller than florida but that's ideal for short trips. Have a fab time! Grin
