For 2 weeks AI to Lanzarote?
There is 1 adult and 2 teenagers. The teens want to do a couple of trips.
I don't want to take too much but I'm worried I won't take enough and I'm already panicking about the holiday in general.
I'm also worried they won't like the food so may need to factor in that too but I may be over thinking that part.
Thanks

Do you have a credit card? If so just withdraw more from an ATM there if you need it. You'll probably get a better exchange rate, just check if there are any fees from your bank.

You should use your bank debit card to withdraw funds from an ATM as fees incurred are much higher when using a credit card.

Let both your bank and credit card company know of your travel plans in advance of departure.

Take a few hundred and use debit card for trip payments/ large expenses/ or at ATM to get more our

Hi,
I cant use my debit card at an Atm except for TSB or the Post office, which is a pain.
I could probably use it to pay for the trips though.

Thanks

I found €400 was just about enough for a week self-catering, when DS (11) and I went there in April. That included a couple of trips. Hope that might help you gauge it.

My dd is quite a fussy eater and we have never struggled on an AI holiday. However she loves salads, fish, anything plain. She has always found plenty to eat.

We did an Full board cruise a while ago and took £500 for excursions and drinks, we did 3 organised day excursions and one on foot ourselves. That was for two adults and a child.

Teens tend to have to pay adult price for excursions.

Check out money saving expert as it shows which debit cards are the best and worst for using abroad. Don't withdraw cash from a cc if you usually pay off the balance each month as you pay interest straight away on cash withdrawals.

You can get a travel money card, top up in your chosen currency to use abroad. I feel it's safer than carrying cash. Accepted anywhere that takes mastercard and in cash machine although there might be a fee. I have one from the post office but there are loads of them.

How about changing up some £ into euros in cash - say £300 as a start. Then take some extra Euros on a currency card. I have a Cash Passport through Travelex. I top it up each year- as i do find it useful.

It's used like a debit card. You can withdraw from an ATM-or pay in stores/restaurants lke a regular chip and pin card.

It's hard to say how much you will need for spending money. You won't want to stay around the hotel all the time. Trips can vary in cost. It depends what you want to do.

I wouldn't worry about the food. you will be able to find most foods on Lanzarote. Classic Spanish dishes, Chinese, Indian, Fish and Chips and a full English. Your hotel will likely serve a buffet for meals- which is great for those who aren't sure about foods. It is easy to try a small amount.

Have a great time - I love Lanzarote.
