Hi, we're hoping to go next year with the DC's who will be 14 and 17 at time of travel. We want to make it a "wow" holiday, and fit in as much as possible. They both like theme parks, not too fussed about Disney, meeting Mickey mouse etc! Would Universal be better? Also waterparks are a big favourite. DD will want to shop, see animals, and probably shop some more.. DS will want to be "doing stuff" (helpful!) Please pile in with your success stories of Florida with teenagers!

I would like the Space Centre too. Harry Potter experience is a "must do" according to DD. Not fussed about swimming with dolphins. all really useful info, thanks again everyone.

All being well, I will be booking my tickets for another Florida holiday tomorrow evening. :D :D :D Can't wait to see the new Harry Potter rides, Diagon Alley and London waterfront!

Took DSC (15 & 17) last easter and their favourites were Universal Islands of Adventure, Disney Hollywood, Kennedy Space Centre, Clearwater Beach and Tampa and eating at Dennys Grin

Ihatemytoes

We have :D

Go for a fortnight from 8th August, flying with Virgin and staying in a villa.

DD is now eagerly watching the updates for the new parts of Wizarding World. The official press preview starts today, so hopefully it opens very soon.

DD is excited today by the revealing of the interactive wands - no doubt costing us a small fortune for yet another wand!

Hi Hulababy we too are going for a fortnight on the 8th August!

Have you gone into planning overdrive yet?!

I am very very very excited. We are getting together with friends on Saturday who have just got back from Florida. Will try not to over interrogate them.......

Not yet, lol. Though me and DD are planning on sorting out the restaurant bookings this week. We are staying in a villa so can't sort FP til 30 days before. Never had to use the FP online before.

We have been a few times before so tend to be a little more relaxed over it - but DD is really excited for the new Harry Potter stuff so will no doubt be heading there the first day - and no doubt we will visit those parks a lot more than usual as a result. I expect they will be heaving as it is so new - it just had better be open!!!

I am sure your friends will be only too glad to fill you in on all the must do stuff! Grin

Ooh Harry Potter! Need to feed up,the wee ones so they pass the height restrictions!

What is FP?

I've been to Florida too but many many moons ago, and without DCs......

BaconAndAvocado · 17/06/2014 22:52

FP = Fast Pass.......but of course!

Ihatemytoes · 18/06/2014 13:14

Ooh, I'm getting excited now too, and we don't go for another 15 months!

So - yeah! It'll definitely be open for when we arrive Grin
