Have you visited Father Christmas in Lapland?

I want to take my three 5 year-olds to visit Father Christmas in Lapland this year. If you've been, I'd love to know which travel company you went with and how the trip went.

We went with DS when he was 5 and used Canterbury travel for a 3 day trip. Have to say it was generally fab!! They kitted us all out, in the proper snow gear, and the hotel was made up of log cabins next to a frozen lake. At night had mini sno-mobiles, thermal lake thing, moonlight sleigh rides and it was lovely. The cabins were really warm, coz it is COLD, about -15 for us, which apparently isn't too bad!!

Be careful what is and isn't included, and how far you are from what is going on...some trips just take you to lapland and there is no organised activity. I would highly recommend Canterbury, though they were expensive. Nice touches like taking a small gift wrapped present, which Father Christmas knows about and can amaze child with was lovely, and the whole Father Christmas thing very believable.

My friends did a one day with twins and loved it too!

Thank you for the info . Did your friend with twins go with Canterbury travel too?

I'm not sure, I don't think so, I'll ask her, and let you know. There are lots of companies, they flew from Leeds Bradford, which limits the choice, whereabouts are you??

Tripletmummy · 30/08/2006 15:35

London - so I'm unlikely to fly from Leeds Bradford, unless there's a very good reason!

Having spent ages weighing this up and deciding it was feasible with a free child place (limited, book before October) rang up Canterbury Travel today, credit card in hand to book a day trip, but all the free child places have gone. Huh. That would be another £400. I think it's just too expensive really - £1600 for a day trip for 4. Fed up though as I'd even talked Mr Crotchety into it and he hates flying.
