Hi, so we're off on a 'road trip' this summer for a week, with 3 days at Eurodisney 2 days in Paris. We're completely stuck for ideas as to what to do for teh other two days. We dont wanna spend hours in the car, but looking for something fun for a 4 year old and 7 year old and something nice for us oldies. Are there any vineyards we could visit? but kids woudl get bore right. Woudl appreciate any advice/tips?

Thanks

I've been to the Champagne area - one of the Champagne places had a train in their cellers. Its quite pretty around there too. There is a great aquarium near Bolougne too. There are WWII museums which can be interesting.

4 days in paris instead of 2

A couple of days on the coast in Normandy? The area round Pont l'eveque is pretty. Lovely countryside, coast very close. No vineyards but they make cider and cheese. Lots for kids to do.

And they make Calvados (the area is also called calvados). Yum.

Monet's garden is within easy reach of Paris, Honfleur is a very pretty port, further north on the way back to the ferry Le Touquet has a huge sandy beach and just inland Montreuil sur Mer (though it's not 'sur mer' any more!) is a pretty French market town with cobbled streets and old city walls.

I think with children that age I would go for a couple of days somewhere on the coast.

Will you be hotelling/eurocamping? You could book in for a 2 or 3 night stay at a campsite near the coast. Normandy or Picardy. Pools for the DC and hopefully other activities on site.

Second the area around Le Touquet. Hardelot plage is lovely.

Was going to 'second' the beaches along the 'Cote d'Opale' but I wasn't quick enough.

Cap Gris Nez and Cap Blanc Nez between Boulogne and Calais are headlands with a view of the south coast of England on a clear day.

The aquarium in Boulogne is called Nausicaa. And if the weather is rubbish, there's also a pool with slides, waves etc called Helicéa on the outskirts of Boulogne.

It's the Mercier house that has the train (it's my fav champagne). It's a good tour but not sure for kids that young. Ours were 9 and 14 and liked bits of it…although I suppose the fact you're on a train in cellars may amuse younger ones?!
If you fancy going as far as Troyes -don't think its too far from Eurodisney area - theres a fab lake there with stuff to hire. Lac d'Orient.

There's a site a Guines near to Calais with pool, snack bar, pitches, chalets and a Logis de France hotel. Eurocamp used to use it, but charged about 4 times the price. Might be worth a look.

We took dd to Mercier in Epernay when she was about 5, she like all the things you can see when you go down in the lift. Piper Heidseick (sp?) in Reims also has a train from memory.

Somewhere on the coast. Either Normandy - the coast from Caen to Deauville has lovely sandy beaches - or Boulogne area.

We stayed at Fort Mahon plage which was lovely, just down from Le Touquet.
