Can anyone suggest anything fun to do or see. They are obviously quite young so looking for something that's not too taxing and also particular to Dublin if possible. Indoor and outdoor suggestions would be much appreciated

TIA

The Phoenix park is (I think) the biggest park in Europe. The zoo is there along with lots of fab playgrounds. Wild deer roam the park. The residence of the president of Ireland is there (Áras an Úachtaráin) which you can go into on Saturdays. Farmleigh is a big house in the park too with beautiful gardens.
My kids love the botanic gardens in Glasnevin, there are some Viking stuff there atm because of the millennial anniversary of the battle of clontarf.
A trip on the dart right along the sea front is always popular with kids, and you can stop in howth for the best fish and chips.
Leprechaun museum and wax museum both supposed to be crap but have not been.
Dublinia is a good exhibition in town about Vikings but yours may be a bit small just yet.
The dead zoo or the natural museum of history is great on a rainy day and the national gallery is just around the corner, they often have activities for kids.
When are you planning your visit?

Hopefully this weekend most likely to be Sunday TBOH the gardens with deer sound fab (are we likely to see any?) and the trip on the dart. I'll look into the museum and gallery. Thanks for all the suggestions Smile

Yes probably, around the Wellington monument (It's a massive obelisk type thing that kids will probably want to climb on) or the massive cross in honour of Pop John Paul II. Best time is dusk but there are sure to be some around. You might even find some antlers in the grass from stags :)

Take the Dart out to Dun Laoghaire, walk the east pier, lovely view at the end. Have a Teddy's ice cream ( scrummy), if it's sunny there is a tiny beach at Sandycove a short stroll down the road- though if it was sunny it will be packed.
The Viking Splash tour is very good though perhaps the children are a little young.
Or how about a drive down to Powerscourt Enniskerry, the children can play in the grounds, there is a lovely Avoca cafe there or you could picnic there.

Did you go Joymaker?

Did you go?
I hate when OP doesn't get back to us and say how the trip was Smile

Too late for the OP, but imaginosity is a great place to take small children on a wet day. Expensive though.
