Afternoon tea in central London with a teen dd?

I'd like to treat dd to a lovely afternoon tea as she's worked hard for something and been very successful - I'd like to say well done to her.

Ii haven't got a clue where to take her. I saw the Mad hatters place. Is that any good? Are there any others like that? She's a big fan of Heston Blumenthals sort of cooking (not that she's ever had anything like that) so something a bit quirky and playful would probably suit her.

Thanks!

Mad Hatters at the Sanderson would be perfect, very buzzy and cool rather than prim and more formal/traditional.

I'll book her in there then. She will love it!

I immediately thought of the mad hatters tea too.

There's also the fashion themed Pret-a-portea at the Berkeley

I'll have a look at that one too :) mad hatters tea has mixed reviews on trip advisor (but then, where doesn't!)

Some friends of mine did a Willy Wonka themed afternoon tea in London. It looked amazing!

I've had afternoon tea at the St Martin's Lane hotel, which is very cool and quirky (don't remember much about the spread itself, but the surroundings were really cool.)

Also perhaps check out Sketch on Conduit Street, that would fit the bill.
