We are coming over to attend a wedding in July which is being held in Butleigh, with reception in Glastonbury. Was wondering if anyone could recommend a suitable hotel, probably for 2 nights in the area. Looking for family or interconnecting rooms (2 adults, 2 kids), flexible dining (ie. buffet breakfast) and above all kiddy tolerant. Facilities would be nice but as we won't be spending a huge amount of time there Babington House et al seem a bit ott!

Thanks in advance,

Hello Beety,
Thanks for your help, I thought it might be your neck of the woods ! Wedding is 17th July so thinking of the night before until Sunday probably. There is the possibility of accommodation being available near the Reception venue but only for Saturday night and I'm really not sure if it would be suitable for the kids. We'll have a car so it doesn't have to be in the immediate vicinity. The happy couple are going to suggest a few places so perhaps once we get their list I could run it past you, but any ideas appreciated ! It is all a bit complicated because both they and us live outside the UK atm.

The George and Pilgrims has a children's menu, apparently, but not interconnecting rooms. Woolley Grange is not that far away- it is expensive but I agree with Beety, it's nearly all B and B around there, so WG is probably your best bet if you really want something family friendly. It would be worth looking into, as at least children don't get charged apart from a fiver for breakfast, so it might end up not too much more. Beety's mum's house sounds the best bet so far!
