Florida favourites

We are going back to Florida for the 3rd time with children (been a few times without)

I am making a list of my favourite things to do, eating smores and pay days, visiting T. Rex cafe, playing crazy golf. Thing like that

I wonder if anyone else has got any favourites? Shops, restaurants, american sweets, anything, would love to try some new things

Oops

Construction work currently being done on the Poly just now so it's worth checking the state of the beach, as last I heard there was a bunch of diggers and tractors blocking the views.

We plan to book 2 weeks in orlando in October 2015, kids will be 18, 12 and turning 5 while over there, liking the sound of Dave and busters, t-Rex

and bubba gumps.
I will be keeping a close eye on this thread and taking notes, thanks.

We've just got back from 17 days in Orlando and I can thoroughly recommend Wild Florida Airboats - here

It was absolutely stunning scenery, amazing alligators (and really nice seeing them in the wild) and very knowledgeable guide. Just for God's sake don't do what I did and try and get there via Florida's Turnpike (80 mile detour and honestly thought I'd end up in Miami!)

Something else we did, which was a little different from the usual parks, was to pay a visit to Lake Louisa State Park . It's just off Highway 27, about 30 minutes from Disney if that, and is stunning. We swam in the lakes, saw gorgeous bird life and had virtually the entire park to ourselves. It's only $5 entry too! Here's the link

Has anyone been to the Daytona Speedway?

Go south to Fort Lauderdale, Miami and The Keys; Islamorada and Key West. Watching sun set at the southern most point is fabulous and a wander round Earnest Hemingway's house.

If the weather is bad we love Ripley's believe it or Not on International Drive. It is fun for all the family.
